Our client is a global insurance company with a strong presence in Asia.  They are now looking for a high calibre candidate responsible for their Asia entities spend for all IT commodities.

Responsibilities:

• Region-wide Scope; Opportunities for Strategic Sourcing Initiatives:  Analysing the region-wide spend and commodity profiles, undertaking opportunity assessments to identify and execute where regional sourcing/contract opportunities are deemed appropriate and beneficial.  Annual pipeline analysis, prioritisation and planning for domain / commodity scope.

• IT Centre of Excellence - Country Procurement Support Initiatives:  Proactive support to country procurement on sourcing projects consultation in domain/commodity scope, as well as tools, process advice and support to country procurement. Inputs in the development of the most appropriate annual pipeline plans and strategies therein.
• Procurement Development & Optimisation:  Take ownership of the 6 global work streams (Process, Tools, Category Management, Business Partner Relationship Management, Supplier Relationship Management, People) in order to position Procurement function and personnel on a Strategic level, and implement it within the region taking into consideration regional / local constraints / issues.

Experience and Qualification:

• University graduate with experience in Procurement, preferably in MNC or insurance company,
• 7-10 years hands-on sourcing and contract management experience involving IT commodities,
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, including sound experience in working with C+ level executives/management,
• Good time management skills,
• High standard of spoken and written English (and preferably Chinese),
• Sound understanding of legal requirements for tendering, contract management,
• Knowledge of tools of procurement (e-procurement),
• Excellent negotiation experience and skills.
