Our client is a world renowned international bank and they are looking for a top talent to join them as the Commodity Manager. This role will be responsible for leading the IT sourcing function for the areas of Telecoms, Networks and Hardware in Hong Kong with the potential to expand to provide category leadership across the Asia Pacific region.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Lead the IT sourcing categories of Telecoms, Networks and Hardware in Hong Kong;
• Provide support for other technology sourcing categories in Hong Kong and also support regional requirements when requested;
• Drive global sourcing strategies for the specifically assigned portfolio via demand side management (working with key stakeholders) and supply side management (working with sourcing teams and/or external vendors directly).
• Work closely with the Global Category Managers (GCMs) responsible for your portfolio, ensuring that requirements are fed into GCM strategies and that GCM strategies are implemented locally; and
   

Responsibilities:

• Define and implement and support commodity strategies and sourcing plans for your assigned category requirements in Hong Kong, whilst ensuring appropriate alignment to global and regional commodity and category strategies;
• Lead the sourcing process for assigned categories, including tender processes, to deliver overall commercial and contractual benefits;
• Foster effective collaboration and ensure strong communication lines with key stakeholders and colleagues in and across the regions;
• Track and report savings achievements for commodities in scope;
• Ensure representation of regional/local interests and market conditions to GCMs;
• Be fully aware of all regional and global sourcing initiatives, strategies and stakeholder matters related to areas of responsibilities; and
• Strategically manage the commercial relationships with key vendors within your portfolio for business critical projects & outsourced services

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree or equivalent;
• Good analytical thinking, with problem solving skills, and business acumen;
• Teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills and good business acumen;
• Able to work independently and multi-task with tight lead times;
• Written and verbal communication skills in English essential, Cantonese is an advantage.
